This position reports to IS Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of ABB Italy Business Application Department. We're looking for a brilliant IS Cloud Solution Architect to join our Italian Team. The work model for the role is: LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: Design, validate, supervise the solution architecture of cloud-native applications, with focus on Microsoft Azure PaaS environments. Master cloud back-end and front-end design and development patterns, to leverage native cloud computing techniques, with focus on MS Azure specifics. Master design and implementation of both microservices-oriented and classic modular architectures in complex ecosystems, where performance, reliability and observability are key critical requirements. Contribute to application code review of critical application components, providing developers and software factories with targeted indications to keep code quality at the highest level. Application Integration: configure Microsoft and third-party applications within the modern workplace environment, ensuring seamless interoperability and user experience across devices and platforms. Identity and Access Management: design robust application identity and access management solutions in compliance with ABB IAM policies and procedures. Work closely with Infrastructure engineers to design and implement connectivity and networking landscape, cloud resource management, configuration and optimization of all cloud services used to build and run applications. Contribute to Application release management and deployment automation, in close collaboration with DevOps engineers, leveraging Azure DevOps or other application lifecycle management tools to streamline deployment, configuration management, and maintenance tasks within the modern workplace environment. Contribute to the proper configuration of modern containerization techniques (e.g. AKS, Kubernetes) to optimize performance of hosted cloud applications, in close collaboration with Infrastructure engineers. Monitoring and Observability: design applications to facilitate code instrumentation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of application services in complex distributed scenarios. FinOps: in collaboration with Infrastructure engineers, design cloud assets which are cost-effective, with the proper dimensioning, keeping track of resource lifecycle and keeping overall consumption under control. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: create detailed documentation, runbooks, and best practice guides to document design decisions, configurations, and procedures related to modern workplace solutions, and share knowledge with internal teams and stakeholders. Working with global and local stakeholders: must be able to work with Enterprise architects, cloud administrators, security engineers, application developers and DevOps engineers. Qualifications for the role You are highly skilled in native Azure cloud services such as Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus, Sql Server, Redis cache, Azure Functions from a development perspective. You have at least 3 years of experience in application development, solution design, application implementation in cloud platforms, productivity platforms, containerized services / microservices-based solutions with focus on Microsoft technologies and Azure ecosystems. Possess an enhanced knowledge of Identity and access management solutions, including Azure Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, and Azure AD Conditional Access. You are passionate about innovation and digital transformation. You are a continuous learner: Stay updated on the latest trends, developments, and best practices in cloud computing. Continuously enhance skills and expertise through self-learning and professional development opportunities. You possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Degree in computer science, IT Engineering, or related field. You are at ease communicating in English and Italian. Knowledge of integration scenarios with SAP, monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Grafana, non-Microsoft cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform) is a Plus. What's in it for you?
