The Role:
We are looking for a GSC International Environmental Leader make an impact! In this role, your mission would be :-
- Develop, own, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies, deployment plans, procedures and projects that promote, build and drive each industrial sites in Global Supply Chain (GSC) International to achieve their Environmental objectives and targets.
- Be the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for GSC International (INT), Interacting with Global Team and translating decided Global initiatives into GSC INT specific actions to deliver the expected and required Environmental & Sustainability outcome.
- Responsible and owned the GSC International Environmental Key Performance Indicators. Working and driving the regional HSE / SERE to achieve the Environmental targets as determined by Global. (Eg: Company level Sustainability targets, Global Environment, Global GSC, etc)
- Work with the Global teams and sites to de-risk the Environmental liabilities. Review/update/develop financial liability estimates, addressing all technical, human health and environmental, regulatory, and legal risks.
- Lead, drive and ensure the proper implementation, audit and management review of of ISO 14001 (ENV) and ISO 50001 (Energy Mgt) in GSC International. Thereby de-risking the operation of GSC INT.
- Responsible for the Environmental Business Continuity Plan in the event of major environmental incidents. Ensuring that site BCP are updated and aligned with Global Policies and practices.
- Lead, drive and build Environmental Competencies in GSC International HSE / SERE Community. Identify and lead the Environmental SPOC to of each regions to drive the GSC INT projects & achieved the KPI set out.
- Oversee and constantly review the operation at all our Industrial sites (Plants & DC), carrying out environmental audits and assessments, put in place in each site an effective Ecostruxure to drive energy saving, clear Zero CO2 strategies & deployment plan, Waste management, Circular initiatives, biodiversity strategies as well as Water strategies in all water scare sites. Identifying and resolving environmental problems and ensuring necessary changes are implemented.
- Formulate, initiative and carry out staff training and ensure all members of the workforce recognise and understand their own contributions to improved environmental performance.
What will you do?
Global
- Develop and implement environmental strategies and deploy action driven plans with clear ownership & datelines so that all GSC INT sites can reach and deliver their environmental objectives and KPI.
- Owned the GSC International Environmental KPI. (Eg: Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, Renewable Energy %, Zero CO2 sites, ZWTR, Biodivesity, Circular Projects, etc).
- Supporting corporate social responsibility activities and render expert advice on any CSR issues and action.
Support other Departments
- Support Procurement team to help our suppliers in their Environmental / Sustainability strategies, leveraging on our industrial sites and expertise.
- Coordinate and lead environment audit of our internal processes, sites as well as our contractors.
- Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility;
Industrial Sites (Plants & DC)
- Lead and ensure that all our sites are compliant in pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy;
- Lead the implementation of SE environmental policies, practices & procedures. Ensuring that all our industrial sites compliance with local environmental legislation;
- Lead, drive and ensure that Effective and Best in class EcoStruxure are put in place at every Industrial sites which provides a basic and strong platform to drive energy efficiency.
- Lead, drive and ensure that the ISO Certification (14K & 50K) are robust, compliant and de-risking the sites. Regular review and audit (Remote & on site) of the sites.
- Lead, drive and ensure that every site has a clear Waste Management, monetization, Circular, Biodiversity and Water Efficiency system that meet and deliver the expected Performance of a Schneider Electric sites and the targets associated to it.
- Support any M&A for the sites.
M&A, Governance & Reporting
- Audit, analyze and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies;
- Manage the development and implementation of an environmental management system;
- Report and follow-up on any safety & environment deviation and incidents. Keeping the Country Management & EAJP Safety & Environment Team informed and ensure that GlobES is updated.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- At least 7-8 years professional environmental experience with a strong knowledge of Environmental regulations and some Health and Safety regulatory knowledge. Having spend at least 6 years operationally on the ground, leading and driving changes across multiple countries.
- Have strong leadership and change management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of EHS management systems. Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004, Energy Saving Management System. ISO 50001.
- Must have professional knowledge in law and regulations of local safety and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with wide variety of audiences (operators, management, engineering, etc,)
- Ability to drive results, driving change, business understanding and teamwork.
- Thorough understanding of risk management, as relates to environmental, and loss control methodology.
- Direct experience in developing and implementing environmental stewardship programs.
- Direct experience developing and implementing waste minimization plans and programs.
- Direct experience with environmental data systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence by example and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to develop and make presentations before various audience sizes at all levels of the organization.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
