We are looking for an experienced and proactive Service Engineer to join the Life Sciences service team, supporting essential healthcare equipment across hospitals and medical facilities throughout the UK. In this role, you'll work with a well-respected company known for high-impact medical solutions. About the Role
As a Field Service Engineer, your work will play a vital role in delivering seamless operation and top-tier service of essential medical devices. You'll be field-based, managing a dynamic workload, troubleshooting, and performing mechanical and electrical maintenance. With a strong support network behind you, including a Service Office and Technical Department, you'll have access to expert guidance and resources for handling complex technical challenges and maintaining equipment at the highest standard.
Your Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Build and maintain client relationships, providing clear and professional service and communication.
Equipment Testing & Servicing: Conduct regular testing, calibration, and servicing of equipment to meet industry standards.
Problem Solving: Apply strong diagnostic skills to resolve mechanical and electrical issues in the field.
Stock Management: Maintain a well-stocked inventory of spare parts for quick response times.
Quality Documentation: Complete service reports, compliance records, and validation reports accurately and on time.
Flexible Support: Provide essential out-of-hours support on a rota basis to ensure customer needs are met.
Team Communication: Maintain clear communication with internal departments, following all protocols for equipment returns and non-conformance reporting.Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is perfect for a technically skilled individual with a background in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering, strong organisational skills, and field-based experience. We're looking for someone with a customer-first approach, who can work independently while staying connected to the broader service team. Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications & Skills Required
A recognised qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2, or equivalent).
Proven experience in a field service environment, ideally within the medical or technical services sector.
Exceptional organisation and self-motivation, with the flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to deliver outstanding service to clients.
