Job Title - Divisional Support Manager (DSM)

Location - Scotland/North of England

Hours of Work - 40 hours per week, with some weekend working required.

Following our acquisition of the Sk:n and Harley Medical group brands, we have an exciting opportunity for a Divisional Support Manager to join our team. Candidates will have a background in Optics, Aesthetics or in High End retail, with a minimum of 5 years management experience.


Duties will include:

  • Conducting Clinic visits where you will be expected to observe the day to day running of the clinic from a front of house and surgical service delivery perspective to include the manager’s brief, set up of the day, patient service, flow of the clinic, observation on consultations with feedback.
  • Ensure the clinic and treatment centre team’s provision of safe, effective, caring and responsive patient care in a high-quality clinical environment is consistent. This must be delivered in a way which maximises the financial and operational performance of the business.
  • Oversee and undertake any new Manager inductions and introductions to Optical Express/ACES and Sk:n.
  • Full involvement in the recruitment of staff, supporting Clinic/Practice Managers as required.
  • The Divisional Support Manager should ensure at all times the Clinics are presentable and maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness and promotes the professional image of Optical Express/ACES and Sk:n
  • The Divisional Support Manager should ensure that all Clinics/Practices within their division have adequate support for the day to day running of the Clinic/Practice.
  • The Divisional Support Manager will be required to conduct select HR investigations, disciplinary hearings and any adhoc HR meetings ie, probation reviews, flexible working applications, wellbeing meetings.
  • Be the first point of contact for the Clinics/Practice to contact if they wish to have a discount or finance authorised.
  • Assist the other Divisional Support Managers and Divisional Directors during periods of absence or annual leave.
  • The Divisional Support Manager is responsible for maximising conversion opportunities with the patients to our premier treatments in both refractive and optical products and ensuring the Clinic/Practice team influences and advises patients on the most suitable and appropriate solution for their needs.
  • Be able to travel within your region/division as required.
