Location: Worcester
Overview: A leading engineering company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Author to join their European Engineering Team. This role will involve producing and maintaining critical technical documentation to support various engineering projects. Reporting to the Team Leader/Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation meets company standards and is delivered within specified deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and continuously update Operating Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, Detail Specifications, and spare parts lists.
* Maintain and administer internal technical documentation, including Assembly Instructions, machine manuals, CE technical files, and risk assessments.
* Ensure all technical documents adhere to company standards and are completed within agreed timelines.
Essential Criteria:
* HNC/HND qualification or equivalent in an engineering-related field.
* Excellent written English and literacy skills.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Detail-oriented, methodical, and systematic approach to work.
* Highly motivated, flexible, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria:
* Background in engineering, with machine tool experience preferred.
* Previous experience in technical writing within an engineering environment.
* Familiarity with CAD systems (such as CATIA Composer or CREO Illustrate).
* Basic proficiency in French and German.
* Experience using graphics manipulation software (e.g., Photoshop, PaintShop).
* Competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Word) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
