Attention skilled Panel Builders!
Our established BMS Controls client is seeking a talented individual to join their team and bring your Panel Wiring expertise to the table.
They are looking for an experienced panel wireman to join their team on a contract basis to build control panels for their building management systems projects.
You will have a strong working background as a panel wirer and a proven history of building and wiring BMS Control Panels. Prior relevant experience is essential as they are keen on taking on an experienced wirer who can hit the ground running.
The successful BMS Panel Wirer will have a proven background in building and wiring a variety of form factor control panels specifically for Building Management Systems applications.
You will be required to build panels to the specifications from the schematic drawings provided, taking the panels from empty enclosures to fully wired and tested products.
In addition, you may be asked to undertake panel mods, modifying panels to accommodate any design/engineering strategy changes.
As a Panel Builder, you'll play a critical role in delivering top-quality control panels and be part of a collaborative team working closely with their Workshop Manager, Project Engineers, and Test Department.
Key responsibilities include:
* Strong previous work experience as a Control Panel Wirer with experience of electrical/mechanical manufacture of BMS control panels
* Expert knowledge and experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and using schematic drawings.
* Laying out back plate as drawn (Measure and cut trunking and DIN rail, Drill and tap back plates)
* Fit out back plate with parts/components provided (contactors, starters, overloads, relays, isolators and controller and input/output modules
* Wire panels as per provided drawings
* Cut out holes for touch screens in doors and install
* Punch enclosure door for switched and lamps and install
* Carry out functional/operational testing
* Receiving and interpreting technical work instructions from the Workshop Manager
* Preparation and organisation of panel manufacture, following established procedures and techniques
* Seeking advice from the Workshop Manager as needed during the construction process
* Inspection and preparation of control panels for testing
* Collaborating with the Workshop Manager and Project Engineers to produce accurate "as manufactured" control panel drawings
* Carrying out any necessary remedial work as instructed by the test department
* Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-organised workshop facility
* Undergoing company training and demonstrating a strong willingness to learn
* Keeping accurate records and efficiently managing time to achieve maximum results
* Maintaining effective communication with all work colleagues to achieve the primary work objective.
