Accounts Assistant/Credit Controller
Permanent
Part Time (25-30 hour per week)
Salary Up to £30k pro rata
Based in Nottingham NG1
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller with 3-5 years of experience to join a small but social team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, and is comfortable managing credit control processes. You will play a critical part in maintaining accurate records, managing receivables, and ensuring timely payments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Credit Control:
• Proactively manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any payment queries professionally.
• Contact customers by phone, email, or other channels to follow up on overdue payments.
• Prepare aged debtor reports and provide insights on outstanding balances to management.
• Accounts Assistance:
• Support the finance team with daily transactions, including reconciling bank statements, processing invoices, and managing expenses.
• Assist in month-end closing tasks, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy between the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare and process supplier payments as needed.
• Help with financial reporting as requested by management.
Key Skills and Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in accounts and credit control roles.
• Proficiency in Xero software is desirable but is not essential.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
