The Software Development Group (SDG) at MASS are the A-players behind the development of our class-leading Mission Data Management, Planning and Countermeasures Development software products that enable international safety. Through their collective specialisms in software UX, design, coding and testing, they support a variety of highly secure customers with complex projects, generally of high national security importance.

This is your opportunity to get hands on with enabling a high-performing Dev team, coordinating and monitoring day-to-day group resources & activities, and ensuring plans are executed effectively. This is not a new role, per se, within SDG, but rather taking on the PM responsibilities to create space for some really exciting innovation initiatives to take place.

The majority of SDG are based out of our North Hykeham office in Lincolnshire, where you’ll be amongst other teams of experts, supporting a variety of Digital and in-person services in the Electronic Warfare domain. We operate a Hybrid working arrangement that strives for mutual flexibility around business and personal needs.

How you’ll support us

You will play parts all throughout the entire lifecycle of software development for whichever project or product you’re collaborating on.

You’ll play a key part in innovating solutions to some of our customers’ most interesting problems. Their important problems. You’ll support our quest of chasing Industry 4.0 technology: developing a new wave of solutions to ever-evolving problems, such as the defence of the realm, through your work as the project manager for some internal technology projects and customer contracts.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll be crucial in adding value to an already positive community-centric culture of a team who really want to be ‘here’. You’ll get involved in supporting and coaching others in the team. You’ll support the Software management team in enabling a non-transactional leadership style, ensuring that we continue to be exceptional at developing talent and rewarding excellence.

The invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more

We’re expecting that you’re an experienced Software Development Project Manager, having followed a number of projects through the entire software development life cycle. With this, you’ll likely have collected some war stories to tell of both your successes and defeats along your learning journey.

Essential experience

* Credible project management experience in a software development context.

* Agile and waterfall experience.

Desirable experience

* Project Management qualification.

* Certified Scrum Master.

* Working knowledge of Jira.

* Experience of bid management and proposal writing.

* Membership of an appropriate professional or chartered body.

* Knowledge of the Defence Industry or related domains.

Our non-negotiables:

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects that you will be involved with, you must be:

* A UK National, eligible to work in the UK

* Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Check (SC) security clearance
