Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated candidate for the position of a Network & Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic and growing engineering team based in Reading. The initial placement will support our client’s PSTN replacement project.
Job Responsibilities:
* Leading in the design, configuration, and development of a wide range of network infrastructure for key projects.
* Project workstream lead.
* Obsolescent hardware replacements including firewalls, switches and servers.
* Deployment and configuration of virtual machine servers.
* Participate in site start up meetings, system configuration and commissioning.
* Provide technical support to clients and other team members.
* Production of technical and testing documentation.
* Upgrades and configuration of Site SCADA Systems – AVEVA System Platform.
Experience Required:
* A demonstrable track record of expertise in Networking, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field.
* Knowledge of the water industry and Operational Technology networks.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good knowledge of MS office.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Cyber Security knowledge and experience.
* 5 years+ of demonstrable experience in router, firewall, and switch configuration.
* A strong understanding of network architectures including IP addressing, VLAN usage, virtualisation technology.
* Hands on experience with AVEVA System Platform SCADA Systems
