Your Role as Memory Care Director of Nursing:

In this role, you'll oversee the quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care for our residents. You'll lead and support our wellness staff, ensuring compassionate, person-centered care through effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by Example: Engage with residents and staff daily by walking the building and staying involved in care activities.
  • Care Planning: Develop and implement resident service plans in line with doctor orders and healthcare needs.
  • Communication: Coordinate with residents, families, staff, physicians, and healthcare providers on resident health issues and care plans.
  • Compliance & Review: Regularly update service plans to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Hands-On Care: Perform and supervise individual nursing services as required.
  • Staff Development: Provide leadership, training, and ongoing support for wellness staff. Conduct staff in-services as needed.
  • Resident Assessment: Assess prospective residents for care needs and suitability for residency.
  • Medication Management: Oversee medication setup, delivery, and storage to ensure safety and accuracy.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to resident emergency calls and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Risk Management: Identify at-risk residents and create comprehensive risk management plans.
  • Resident Wellness: Implement programs to promote health and wellness through education and preventative care.
Required Qualifications:
  • RN or LPN License: Valid nursing license for the applicable state.
  • Senior Care Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with seniors. Knowledge of senior health is essential.
  • Management Experience: At least 2 years of people management experience.
  • Medication Expertise: Strong understanding of medication, dosages, and potential side effects.
  • Skills: Proven integrity, problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with essential software tools.
  • Commitment to Resident Independence: Advocate for residents' safety, dignity, and independence.
  • Availability: Ability to work additional hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, as Manager on Duty.
