Description
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Internal Medicine at Dell Medical School is seeking a candidate for a full-time non-tenure clinician educator position for the UT Health Specialty clinic.

About the Department of Internal Medicine
The Department of Internal Medicine is home to 20 categorical residents per year, which includes a Primary Care Track and a Distinctions Track in Care Transformation, plus 5 preliminary interns in Medicine. Dell Seton Medical Center (DSMC) is a 220-bed, safety net, Level 1 Trauma Center, and serves as the inpatient training facility for this program.

About the Endocrine Division
The endocrine division at Dell Medical School provides high-quality, collaborative clinical care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings for a broad spectrum of patients with varying health needs. The division is heavily involved in teaching medical students and residents in the clinical and classroom settings. The undergraduate endocrine curriculum and undergraduate and graduate clinical rotations are rated very highly by learners. The endocrine division participates regularly in multidisciplinary care conferences including endocrine-surgery conference and pituitary conference.
About the Position
The position will call for provision of both inpatient consultation and outpatient clinical service. The position will require management of the full spectrum of endocrine conditions including but not limited to: types 1 and 2 diabetes to include use of advanced technologies (insulin pumps, CGM), thyroid disorders including thyroid cancer and its post-operative management, pituitary disorders including pituitary tumors and their post-operative management, adrenal disorders, reproductive system disorders, disorders of calcium metabolism and bone, lipid disorders, transgender medicine. This position may include clinical time at the Federally Qualified Health Clinic which partners with Dell Medical School, with potential opportunities for leadership in the future.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree, with residency training in Internal Medicine, and fellowship training in Endocrinology Diabetes, and Metabolism.
- Minimum 5 years experience preferred.
- Board certification or board eligibility (if within 2 years of fellowship completion) in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
- Texas state medical license or eligibility for application.
- Eligible for appointment at an Assistant or Associate Professor level.
- Strong clinical and teaching skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work with community health systems and partners to develop innovative models of care and deliver outstanding care.
