AS400 Developer - RPG

Job Description : The AS400 Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications on the IBM AS400/iSeries platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in RPG, CL, and DB2, and have experience in analyzing business requirements to create efficient, scalable software solutions. Key Responsibilities : - Application Development : Design, develop, and maintain AS400 applications using RPG IV, RPGLE, CLP, SQL, and DB2. - System Analysis : Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Code Maintenance : Modify existing programs to correct errors, improve performance, or upgrade interfaces, while adhering to best coding practices. - Performance Optimization : Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements for optimal functionality. - Database Management : Work with DB2/400 for database management, queries, and performance optimization. - Integration : Develop interfaces to integrate AS400 applications with other systems and platforms (e.g., web services, APIs). - Testing and Debugging : Perform unit testing, debugging, and ensure the software meets all performance and security standards. - Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications, code comments, and user guides. - Support : Provide technical support for users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of system bugs or errors. - Project Management : Collaborate in project planning, provide time estimates for development tasks, and meet project deadlines.
