Functional Consultant - Baan

Position : Baan Functional Consultant Location : Remote Experience Required : 7 years Relevant Experience : 7 Years Notice Period : Immediate to 15 days Contract Duration : Minimum of 6 Months Job Title : Baan Functional Consultant We are seeking an experienced Baan Functional Consultant to provide critical support for our Baan IV system, which is currently in use across several U.S. plants. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of Baan IV or experience with Infor LN, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with end users and project teams to deliver effective solutions that meet business requirements. Key Responsibilities : System Support : - Provide comprehensive day-to-day support for the Baan IV system, ensuring that issues are promptly addressed and resolved to avoid operational disruptions. - Monitor the system's performance, troubleshooting errors, and collaborating with technical teams to implement enhancements where needed. Project Delivery : - Work closely with project teams and end users to gather requirements and ensure the successful delivery of business-critical projects. - Ensure that the functional design aligns with the business objectives and deliverables. - Take a lead role in the configuration and customization of the Baan IV system to suit specific business needs. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : - Analyze and resolve functional problems within the Baan IV environment. - Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues and ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations. - Provide expert advice and consultation to help resolve complex system issues related to functional workflows, integrations, or customizations. Stakeholder Communication : - Collaborate with end users, department heads, and other stakeholders to gather business requirements and propose suitable solutions. - Communicate effectively between IT and non-IT teams, ensuring that technical details are clearly understood and requirements are accurately translated into system functionality. Collaboration : - Partner with internal teams such as IT, finance, and manufacturing to drive projects forward, ensuring alignment with business objectives. - Facilitate knowledge transfer and training for users on key functionalities and best practices of Baan IV. Documentation & Organization : - Maintain comprehensive records of system configurations, project deliverables, and support activities. - Ensure proper documentation is in place to support future upgrades, system audits, and troubleshooting efforts. - Organize and maintain structured documentation for all configurations, customizations, and workflows implemented within the system. Qualifications : Experience : - 7 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in Baan IV or Infor LN. - Expertise in Baan IV systems or Infor LN, with proven experience in system customization, configuration, and functional issue resolution. - Exposure to Baan IV implementations across multiple locations or plants will be a plus. Technical Skills : - Solid understanding of Baan IV or Infor LN functionality, particularly in areas such as production planning, inventory management, procurement, sales, and finance modules. - Proven ability to troubleshoot functional issues within Baan IV and design system enhancements as needed. - Ability to configure the system based on business requirements and provide effective user support. Soft Skills : - Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business processes and provide functional improvements to meet operational demands. - Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and user support. Preferred Experience : - Hands-on experience with Infor LN or other versions of Baan. - Strong understanding of ERP modules including finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. - Experience in managing or supporting system upgrades and transitions from Baan IV to other ERP systems such as Infor LN.
