Database Administrator - SQL

Role : SQL Database Administrators Responsibilities : - Manage SQL and MySQL Server databases (should be a combo of both), through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. - Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. - Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations. - Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. - Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. - Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement. - Provide support for critical production systems. - Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities. - Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. - Manage SQL Server databases. - Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems. - Configure and maintain database servers and processes. - Experience in Migration from SQL server Lower version to upgraded version. - Experience in applying service packs and patches. - Monitor system's health and performance. - Creating DB maintenance plans, rebuild/reorganize indexes & performing integrity checks. - Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security. - Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time. - Provide suggestions for solutions. - Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. - Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement. - Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours. - Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. - Experience with backups, restores and recovery models. Technical and Professional Requirements : - Bachelors degree in computer engineering or computer science. - 2 to 18 years of experience as a SQL Server and MY SQL Server Database Administration with excellent proven skills. - Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. - Experience with backups, restores and recovery models. - Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL and MySQL Server. - Ability to work independently on Windows server, including Active Directory. - Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success. - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. - Flexible, team player, "get-it-done" personality. - Ability to organize, plan and work independently in a rapidly changing environment. - Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
