Engineering Manager - MERN Stack

Role - Engineering Manager Location - Bangalore / Remote Job Description : We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with strong technical skills and a background in the MERN stack to lead and grow our engineering team. In this role, you'll split your time between hands-on development and people management, driving projects to successful completion while mentoring and supporting a talented team of engineers. You should have a solid foundation in cloud architecture (AWS) and be skilled in designing scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities : Technical Leadership : Lead end-to-end software development using the MERN stack, ensuring code quality, scalability, and performance. Hands-On Coding : Dedicate approximately 50% of your time to hands-on coding and architecture design, supporting your team with technical challenges and actively contributing to development. People Management : Oversee and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance. Architecture & Design : Provide strong architectural guidance to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications, with a focus on cloud architecture (AWS). Project Ownership : Manage timelines, deliverables, and prioritization, ensuring successful completion of projects that align with business goals. Mentorship : Mentor and coach team members, offering career development support, conducting performance evaluations, and setting growth objectives. Requirements : Experience : 6-12 years of overall experience in software engineering with recent experience in the MERN stack. Leadership Experience : - Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role with proven people management skills. Technical Expertise : - Strong hands-on coding skills in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js). - Expertise in AWS cloud architecture , with a solid understanding of scalability and system design. - Proficient in architectural patterns and design principles for building high-performance applications. Interpersonal Skills : Excellent communication, people management, and mentorship abilities. Preferred Qualifications : - AWS certification or equivalent experience in cloud-native design. - Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation. - Demonstrated success in balancing hands-on development with effective team leadership.
