Database Architect

Position : Data Architect Role Overview : The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the company's data infrastructure. This position requires a strong understanding of data modeling, architecture, and best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organization. Key Responsibilities : - Translate Business Requirements : Convert business requirements into technical specifications for data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses. - Define Data Architecture : Establish the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, and master/reference data. - Define Reference Architecture : Create a reference architecture that can be followed by others to build and improve data systems. - Define Data Flows : Map out data flows within the organization, including data generation, consumption, management, and transformation. - Test Database Changes : Test modifications to database applications or systems. - Recommend Technologies : Identify, evaluate, and recommend hardware or software technologies to optimize database performance. - Design Database Applications : Design database applications, such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, and indexing strategies. - Collaborate with Teams : Work closely with system architects, software architects, design analysts, and others to understand business requirements. - Develop Database Strategies : Develop and document database architectures at the modeling, design, and implementation stages. Qualifications and Experience : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Advanced degree in Data Science or a similar field preferred. - Minimum 5 years of experience as a data architect or a related role. - Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts. - Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g, ERWin, Rational Rose). - Experience with various database platforms (e.g, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). - Knowledge of data integration and ETL tools. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities (ref:hirist.tech)
