Your Role and Responsibilities
The Information Architect is a key player in improving the IBM.com global website experience. This role involves collaborating on IA and content strategy efforts with a team of taxonomists, information architects, developers, and content strategists. You’ll work with a team that plays a crucial role in enhancing the organization and effectiveness of our digital presence and the underlying systems that connect it.

- Collaborate with development teams to translate information architecture concepts into scalable and efficient technical solutions, leveraging your experience in web technologies and frameworks.
- Lead and review comprehensive audits to identify and resolve issues related to broken links, URL structure inconsistencies, and other technical content challenges, continuously evolving site-wide guidelines to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate on the research, development, and implementation of comprehensive strategies to enhance site-wide information architecture, ensuring cohesive and intuitive navigation across all digital touchpoints.
- Direct the efforts of content managers, researchers, and UX designers to refine content organization and information architecture, ensuring alignment with overarching strategic content initiatives and standards.
- Engage with Product Owners, senior Stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and align macro-IA strategies with business objectives, driving consistent and effective outcomes.
- Document information architecture guidelines, standards, and best practices.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Content Strategy, User Experience (UX) Design, Information Architecture, or a similar field.
- Proven experience as an Information Architect or similar role.
- Deep understanding of web technologies, content management systems, and development methodologies.
- Experience in creating and implementing taxonomies and metadata standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear and actionable solutions.
- English Fluent.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Extensive experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including its taxonomy, customization, and optimization for large-scale, global websites.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing modern Information Architecture strategies, including the use of breadcrumbs, building sitemaps, and schema markup.
- Sophisticated understanding of web quality standards and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including information architects, content strategists, researchers, and UX designers, to refine content organization and information architecture.
- Experience conducting comprehensive audits to identify and resolve technical issues such as broken links and URL structure inconsistencies and evolving global guidelines for optimal performance.
