Job Description

Brightsmith are currently supporting a leading Hydrogen organisation in building out their team, as the begin to increase their project large scale hydrogen project portfolio.


To support continued growth, they are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with a robust background in large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. This role will oversee and drive the success of hydrogen projects, ensuring they meet the high standards required in this transformative sector.


Role Overview: Project Manager


  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of major hydrogen projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Oversee all EPC elements, including resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to deliver the project on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives.


Key Responsibilities: Project Manager


  • Define project scope, establish timelines, set budgets, and confirm deliverables.
  • Manage all aspects of EPC, working closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, as well as external contractors, to meet project objectives.
  • Act as the primary contact for stakeholders, clients, and vendors, ensuring alignment on project expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations.
  • Track expenses, monitor budgets, and implement corrective actions as needed to prevent cost overruns.
  • Enforce best practices and quality control standards at each project stage.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, and updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.



Qualifications: Project Manager


  • Engineering background.
  • 8-10 years of project management experience, particularly with large-scale EPC projects in sectors like energy, petrochemicals, or industrial gases. Experience with hydrogen or renewables is highly valued.
  • Experience working on large scale complex projects.
  • Familiarity with hydrogen production, storage, and distribution technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
