Overview of the Role

As an EDS Design Engineer at this company, you would play a vital role in designing and developing the electrical distribution systems that power our advanced vehicle technologies. Your responsibilities would include creating and managing wiring harness layouts, selecting components, and preparing detailed technical documentation. You would collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate these systems seamlessly and work with suppliers to source the best components. The role involves conducting tests to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards, while also troubleshooting and addressing any issues. Your innovative thinking would contribute to enhancing the efficiency, weight, and cost-effectiveness of our electrical systems, helping drive forward our mission to create cutting-edge, sustainable mobility solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Comply with project cost, weight, quality, and timing targets
• Create, comply, and enhance DFMA and all robustness disciplines
• Lead the CAD team to achieve the routing, retention, and packaging requirements
• BOM consistency between CAD, Windchill and PREEvision
• Plan and execute the DVP as well as implement the design improvements
• Solve issues including cross-functional interfaces
• Measure the design maturity and report risks in a meaningful timing
• Plan and execute prototyping support and reworking

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of wire harness and EDS
• 3D CAD knowledge
• Understanding of automotive E/E Systems
• English proficiency required
• German proficiency preferred
