Join our EQ Investment Portfolio Team for fund investments as a Senior Equity Investment Professional (f/m/d), working with highly skilled professionals to manage and optimize our fund investment portfolio and assess new fund and co-investments opportunities.
You will be responsible for the entire transactional value chain, from tracking private equity managers that are raising new funds, due diligence of investment opportunities, to portfolio management of investments as a Limited Partner (LP).
Your key responsibilities.
- Proactively assess potential investment markets through comprehensive desktop research, strategic networking, and active participation in industry events
- Evaluate potential fund investments by analyzing historical performance, assessing the management teams and investment strategies from funds and their value creation strategies
- Meet with fund managers as part of due diligence and steer the deal teams of internal and external parties for the due diligence work streams (e.g., tax, legal and compliance)
- Prepare internal approval applications, including assessing opportunities based on SFS EQ's four equally important strategic pillars, "Environmental, Social and Governance", "Siemens Industrial Business Proximity", "Resilience" and "Profitability".
- Negotiate with targets and third parties and collaboratively prepare related documentation with the legal team, from non-binding letters of interests to final investment agreements
- Analyze the fund investments on a regular basis and prepare portfolio reviews for discussion within management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, co-investors, and other partners
- Liaise with fund managers and collaborate internally to manage the budget and forecast process, execute capital calls, and receive distributions
- Throughout all these activities, you will ensure adherence to the highest standards of ethics and corporate governance while promoting a culture of proactive knowledge sharing and transparency.
Your toolkit for success.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar
- Bring at least 5 years of professional transaction-based experience in corporate or investment banking, private equity, fund management, structured finance, or M&A.
- You have a track record of collaborating with international teams tackling complex projects.
- Proven experience working with collaborators and coordinating with co-shareholders, Limited Partners, General Partners, fund managers, and other key partners
- You have demonstrated abilities to drive value creation and risk mitigation measures, building relationships between technical counterparts and investment companies and managing complex partner relationships
- Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills combined with asset valuation skills is helpful
- You possess outstanding MS Office skills, particularly Excel, and expertise in financial modelling and risk analysis
- You are highly self-motivated, with strong initiative and interpersonal skills and passion for working in ecosystems
- You possess advanced industry knowledge of and a strong personal belief in SFS EQ's target sectors/markets
- High proficiency in the English language rounds off your profile, German skills are a welcome
- Please be aware that travel (20%) is expected as part of due diligence and value creation.
