Building Services Engineer

Yourconstruction are delighted to be looking for a Building Services Engineer to join a successful company.
My client are an Industry award winning employer specialising in Renewable Solutions for domestic, commercial and public sector clients. We are looking to expand our small friendly team, based in North Lincolnshire.
As a building services engineer, you will be required to:
Create plans using CAD or BIMS ● design and install controls ● estimate costs, present ideas and create progress reports ● keep to building regulations and health and safety requirements ● organise the work of technicians and assist with installations and maintenance. ● Collate data and analyse live data and provide client support to improve designs and increase efficiencies● Provide decarbonisation plans and help access funding for clients.
We are seeking a graduate engineer to work within the team carrying out engineering design tasks, building performance modelling, energy analysis and provide energy and sustainability advice to the team and clients. The role is multidisciplinary split between mechanical design engineering, project support and sustainability support. The position offers an opportunity to actively engage in the design and delivery of new build and refurbishment projects from concept through to construction, completion and final handover. Within the business you will also work as part of the team to deliver a diverse range of schemes at varying stages of project delivery.
An understanding of passive building design techniques with some relevant exposure to dynamic thermal modelling and compliance assessment. You will be expected to support delivery of schemes through sizing and selection of mechanical building services such as pipework and ductwork sizing and central plant selection and generation of technical specifications. Determining low carbon strategy concepts and offering appropriate technical solutions for projects with the specific aim of reducing energy use and carbon dioxide emissions through active and passive sustainable design.
Typical duties include:
Designing, inspecting, maintaining and testing ● identifying suitable materials and components. ● assessing and advising on the sustainability of systems. ● drawing up plans using computer-aided design (CAD) ● managing projects involving installing or dismantling services, including forecasting costs and keeping clients informed of progress. ● ensuring that systems meet health and safety requirements. ● giving presentations and writing reports highlighting the practical implications of an architect’s designs. ● negotiating contracts with clients, particularly in consultancy work. ● liaising with plumbers, electricians, surveyors and other construction professionals. As a Building services engineer you will focus on the design of the systems; oversee how the designs are implemented on site and ensure the designs are working efficiently, with reports when required. Key skills ● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. ● An eye for detail and good design abilities. ● Excellent numeracy skills. ● Strong communication skills. ● Excellent people and time management skills. ● The ability to work well both as part of a team and on your own. ● IT skills and a familiarity with CAD.
Working environment You will be based in our office with visits to site. £30-50K DOE,
