Overview
We are supporting an innovative engineering company looking to add a Junior Engineering Buyer/Assistant Buyer to their team. The company supply globally and are a dynamic and growing business who manufacture high tech bespoke machinery, looking to continue developing moving forwards.
The Role
Reporting into the Purchasing Manager within a small Purchasing team, this role will involve supporting the procurement function through a variety of entry level procurement admin tasks with the view of developing into a Buyer moving forwards. Day to day tasks will include expediting parts, chasing overdue orders, challenging suppliers on late deliveries, resolve any queries from goods in with relation to deliveries, reporting back to the team in relation to PO’s status. They are ideally looking for someone who is happy to team work in other departments as and when needed and who is enthusiastic to progress their career within purchasing moving forwards.
Qualifications and Skills
Could be a graduate (supply chain or other), or maybe have experience from a call centre/office admin or have worked on the shop floor within a manufacturing company – they are really open to background as long as you demonstrate the key qualities
Strong IT skills – Excel, Outlook
Qualification in Maths and English as a minimum
They will give support through CIPS qualification for personal progression
Strong cross departmental communication – may need to have difficult conversations with suppliers
Not afraid to pick the phone up rather than just emailing
Bubbly, friendly character who is easy to get ion with and willing to help across the whole business where necessary – this role could involve helping support the Export and Spared departments to cover holidays What you will get in return
