Area Business Manager – Industrial Sector (Northern England)

The Role:
As Area Business Manager, you will be instrumental in driving sustainable, profitable growth within the industrial sector. Working with industries such as general manufacturing, metalworking, plastics, concrete manufacturing, and energy, your responsibilities will include:
* Growing and managing existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
* Applying your product knowledge to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
* Developing long-term relationships with customers through consultative selling and regular face-to-face visits.
* Managing pricing and profitability to achieve sales targets.
* Collaborating with internal teams and utilising CRM systems to track activity and build strong sales pipelines.
* Staying ahead of industry trends and competitor developments.
You:
You’ll bring a strong mix of technical expertise, sales acumen, and a customer-focused approach. Key requirements include:
* A degree or background in engineering, industrial tooling, transmission, or lubricants.
* Proven experience in the lubricant or chemical industry and success in B2B external sales.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and a full UK driving licence.
* Knowledge of the Northern England industrial market and sectors such as metalworking or plastics injection moulding is a bonus.
