Commissioning Manager – North-West
Murphy are recruiting a Commissioning Manager to join our growing Infrastructure Business Unit to support our AMP8 Water Frameworks in the North West of England. In this role you will provide the strategic, technical and functional leadership of our commissioning team across mechanical, electrical and process disciplines during the concept to completion delivery of water and wastewater projects.
What you will be doing
The Commissioning Manager (CM) will prepare and own the framework specific delivery procedures and ensure the appropriately resourced, compliant delivery of MEICA installation and plant start-up activities. You will ensure the production and consistency of supporting technical and project handover deliverables. The role also includes responsibility for ensuring statutory compliance related deliverables are received from our supply chain.
The CM shall communicate the framework specific procedures to the Lead Commissioning Engineer(s) to allow subsequent cascading throughout the team at individual project level.
The CM shall provide technical assurance input during each project pre-award and design phase to ensure early-stage commissioning needs, risk assessments, plant start-up activities and existing works integration are given due consideration. This is to ensure a clear strategy for project completion and handover is developed from the project outset.
In summary, the role will encompass the following activities and responsibilities:
Development and delivery of the strategic commissioning model for the specific water framework and provide routine reporting to the framework leadership team
Provide technical assurance and take ownership for the suitability of the project solution throughout the project life cycle
Preparation (or approval) of project specific commissioning strategy, programme sequence and resource cost estimate
Provide support to our work winning teams in the preparation of enquires, technical evaluation of bids and general commissioning support to ensure that we have a robust scope of works and a fully integrated and coordinated design solution
Evaluate consultant and supply chain process commissioning proposals and carry out technical appraisal of bids
Support supply chain selection for specialist input to the design and procurement
Proactive recruitment of new commissioning team members to meetfFramework demand
Provide mentoring to the commissioning team
Liaise and engage with Murphy affiliate teams
Keep up to date with emerging water sector technologies
Embrace digital engineering
Support business improvement for our Infrastructure Business unit
Who are we looking for
Self-motivated and driven individual to promote and embed consistent commissioning delivery procedures and an ‘Always Deliver’ ethos within the entire team
An individual with significant and knowledge and experience of water project delivery within the construction industry
Flexibility to travel to sites and offices across the North West of England
A recognised qualification in your area of Commissioning delivery related expertise
