Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sales Account Manager functions as direct contact with the customer. The Account Manager will track RFQs / establish and maintain product pricing / tooling kick-offs & timing / samples and trial part orders / maintain on-line customer portals / and produce and maintain various sales reports. The sales account manager will develop strategies to increase sales in the future for the OEM's and tier suppliers assigned.

  • The sales account manager position incorporates the skills and tasks performed as detailed here:
  • Matters for new business including presentations and promotional materials in order to generate customer quote requests. Provide quotes to customers. Follow up and monitor quote status (pending, lost, pre-production, production) with customers and update quote tracking tools as necessary.
  • Matters concerning the planning of basic sales strategies to sustain sales growth. Collaborate with the engineering department and management to develop new sales strategies
  • Communicate with customers frequently to acquire information about part usage and initial sales planning. Acquire the customers' vehicle development and end of production schedules. Inform and request capacity confirmation from production control department for additional quantities.
  • Execute the internal business award process.
  • Matters concerning new customer setup, customer credit, and payment terms.
  • Matters concerning customer requested cost reductions including common annual fiscal year cost reduction requests.
  • Matters concerning the negotiation of the customer owned tooling repair costs and approval and costs for obsolete customer owned tooling.
  • Must perform work within the company standard policies.
  • Coordinate the improvement of standard operating procedures that provide precise information to perform a task with minimal supervision.
  • Rely on some experience and judgment to plan and accomplish sales goals.
  • Prepare and present sales data and strategies to the sales department management.
  • Perform a variety of tasks within sales area using a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Must Have's
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - 5 or more years' experience in related field
  • Experience working with automotive OEM's (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Honda, Nissan) companies directly from a tier supplier or direct employee is desired.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills
  • Team player and self-motivated.
  • Able to travel to customers mostly locally within the Michigan area
  • Should be familiar with a variety of plastic resins, injection molding process, metals, and forming processes.
  • Organized, task oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm, hybrid schedule of 2 days onsite, 3 days at home. Long term career opportunity
