Automated Inspection Engineer
Location: Maplewood, MN
The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The Automated Inspection and Measurement group is responsible for fundamental technology development, application investigations, system integration and deployment, and long-term support across many divisions in the areas of automated inspection, measurement, machine vision, automation, and process data systems. This group is a leader in digital technology within the corporation through its technology development and breadth of system deployment across manufacturing operations. This position will also have work in adjacent digital areas of manufacturing technology, including data automation and process analytics.
• Software development for automated inspection, data automation, and process analytics applications
• Work in a team environment to lead, conceptualize, and implement solutions across several applications in aforementioned areas, with an emphasis on back-end image processing architecture
• Adhere to team design and coding procedures and standards
Your Skills and Expertise
• Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in computer science, computer engineering, or engineering field from an accredited institution
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
• Effective leadership, communication, organization, and team skills
• Two (2) years of professional software development experience
• Master's degree (completed and verified prior to start) in computer science, computer engineering, or engineering field from an accredited institution
• Experience working in cross-functional R&D teams to develop world-class systems
• Experience developing C# in the .NET framework
• Experience using RESTful Web Services
• Foundation in modern JavaScript/Typescript and the Angular framework
• Solid understanding of SQL
• Experience with source control tools such as GIT, etc.
• Basic understanding of the principles of machine learning and image processing
