The work we do at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) matters to our country and the world! The Innovative Customer Experience (ICE) Division is looking for a dynamic leader! We are seeking a skilled Cloud Development Lead with a strong background in cloud computing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AWS, Azure and other cloud platforms, combined with exceptional communication and public speaking skills. As a Lead Cloud Developer/Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of cloud initiatives which includes Cloud Security, Design, Training, Optimization, Platform Engineering, communicating effectively with Laboratory management, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
ICE division consists of more than 350 talented Solution Architects, Computer Systems Professionals, and Computer System Technician employees who provide the varied Laboratory organizations with Information Technology experts who design, build, and support their mission-driven technical needs, on the unclassified and classified networks through several different service touchpoints. In addition, optimize the use of information technology, ensure seamless delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring system performance, applying configuration management practices, creating processes and standards for selection and implementation.

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Lead Cloud Developer/Product Owner or similar role.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure with proficiency in cloud infrastructure best practices and tools.
- Proficient in languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js
- Solid understanding of risk management principles, compliance requirements, and security frameworks relevant to cloud environments.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including upper management.
Education/Experience:
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with deploying Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) in a large environment.
- Demonstrated experience with DevOps and Platform Engineering.
- Certification in cloud security or architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Certified Cloud Security Professional).
- Experience in Agile Methodologies and Product Backlog Management with the ability to work with Cloud Technical Leads and a Sr. Cloud Technical Engineer.
