Compensation Overview


The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$83,300.00 - $137,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?


The Travelers Kubernetes Platform team is seeking an engineer that has experience with Kubernetes Platforms and Containers to join our dynamic team. The role includes supporting Travelers’ strategic container solution - Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service clusters, working closely with business product teams, implement new cluster designs and transition applications to the new modern Kubernetes platform, EKS.


What Will You Do?




  • Designing and implementing Cloud Native services and principles leveraging AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)




  • Providing Kubernetes expertise to the Lines of Business application development teams.




  • R&D for new Kubernetes-based solutions and components




  • Integration of cloud solutions with new emerging open standards




  • On-going maintenance and support of Kubernetes Platforms




  • Support efforts to accelerate applications moving to Amazon EKS




  • Perform other duties as assigned.




What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?




  • Three years of experience in Technology preferred.




  • Developing knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.




  • Intermediate knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills:




  • AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)




  • Containers and Kubernetes




  • Kubernetes Operators




  • Service Mesh (Istio)




  • Go Programming Language




  • Terraform




  • GitOps Patterns and Implementations (Argo CD)




  • Cloud Native Computing Foundation Technologies




  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)




What is a Must Have?



  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, required.
