Wright County Community Action (WCCA) was founded and has been in continuous service to the community since 1965. We are a private, 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and the designated Community Action Agency serving residents of Wright County. We also administer Head Start services in the western 1/3 of Hennepin County. Over the decades of service throughout this community, we ve actively pursued our mission through a range of programs that target safe housing, hunger, nutrition, education, energy assistance, and a variety of other services that promote economic independence for people with low incomes. Job Summary This position is primarily responsible for post-award grant administration and related project accounting. The Grant and Compliance Accountant provides internal support and accounting functions to program managers and agency leadership for the organization s government grants, foundation grants, and restricted donations. This position is responsible to maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and funder requirements. Duties include support of payroll, AP, AR and journal entries; assisting with the budget and audits; completing monthly and year-end grant and fund close procedures, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports as needed. Job Functions and Responsibilities: Review grant contracts Record revenue and expenses for each assigned fund Monitor budget to actual in coordination with program managers and others Report expenses and submit invoices to funders Close-out grants Monitor compliance, communicate and enforce established internal control practices Ensure that accounting records are maintained for assigned programs, as required by program regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. Assist with reconciliation of accounts; Complete journal entries as needed; Assist in preparation for program and agency audits and monitoring visits; Assist with application of cost allocation plan; Advise and implement new procedures as needed; Provide back-up for Payroll and A/P; support 1099 completion and distribution; Assist others in the administrative and fiscal department with special projects, and other duties as assigned; Other Tasks Assigned. Other Job Duties Act as an ambassador of WCCA in the community ; Contribute to the overall success of the organization by working together to achieve the mission of Working in partnership with the community to empower residents to improve their physical, social and economic well-being. ; Demonstrate cultural competence in the workplace and respectfully interact with all employees, program participants, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders ; Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organizations.
