FoxPro Developer

About the Role : We're searching for a skilled and experienced Visual FoxPro Developer to join our growing team In this critical role, you'll leverage your expertise in FoxPro programming and database management to develop, maintain, and enhance our existing applications. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and ongoing functionality of our FoxPro systems, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive technical solutions. Responsibilities : FoxPro Development & Maintenance : - Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Visual FoxPro. - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within FoxPro applications. - Migrate legacy FoxPro applications to modern technologies when required. - Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability of FoxPro applications. Collaboration & Communication : - Collaborate effectively with project managers, analysts, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities. - Document system design, development, and testing processes for future reference. - Provide technical support to end users and assist with troubleshooting. Technical Skills & Expertise : - Possess a strong understanding of Visual FoxPro and other FoxPro versions (minimum 5 years of experience). - Demonstrate proficiency in database design principles and SQL. - Have experience with data migration from FoxPro to modern database platforms (e., SQL Server, MySQL). - Be familiar with modern development practices, including version control systems and code repositories. - Apply object-oriented programming concepts to create efficient, reusable, and maintainable code. Required Skills & Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Proven 5 years of experience working with Visual FoxPro and other FoxPro versions. - Strong knowledge of database design and SQL. - Experience with data migration best practices. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Skills : - Experience with additional programming languages (e.NET, C#). - Familiarity with legacy system integration and modernization techniques. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). - Knowledge of accounting, finance, or ERP systems (a plus) (ref:hirist.tech)
