We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Team Leader (M&E) to join our team in Stevenage. In this role, you will provide vital support to the Team Leader, overseeing mechanical and electrical engineering operations to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This is an ideal role for a skilled engineer looking to step into a leadership role with responsibility for mentoring and supporting a team.
Responsibilities:
* Assisting the Team Leader in managing daily M&E operations and ensuring smooth workflow.
* Conducting inspections and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.
* Supporting team members in achieving their operational and safety targets.
* Assisting in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and inspection activities.
* Supporting the training and development of the engineering team.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
* Strong understanding of M&E systems and maintenance procedures.
* Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an engineering environment.
