Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Glasgow - On-site
Up to £45,000 + Benefits: Overtime, 14% pension, 25 days holiday, free shares and more!
What the role of the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer entails:
Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will include:
Setting to work of mechanical marine systems and equipment, across the whole ship platform to include Power and Propulsion, HVAC and Hotel, Fixed Fire Fighting, Hull & Deck, the ships machinery, and piping systems
Acting as a Mechanical Authorised Person responsible for safe systems of work for platform systems to include isolations, permits, and safe progressive energisation of systems
Carrying out audits and inspections of mechanical ships systems for handover to Commissioning, along with liaising with ship Operations and Design teams
Writing technical documentation to support set to work and trails such as test forms, minor trials documentation, sea trials serials, and risk assessments
Co-ordinating equipment manufacturers representatives, client, and acceptance bodies to successfully demonstrate acceptance of ships systems
Using and analysing technical drawings and manuals to fault find ships systems, and liaising with design teams to resolve issuesWhat experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Commissioning Engineer:
Essential
HNC qualified in a technology, engineering or science related discipline or extensive experience in commissioning role
Experience in Marine engineering or similar industries
Good technical understanding in mechanical marine systems operation and design
Good people skills and ability to work, coach, mentor and assist within a multi-disciplined teams and environmentsDesirable
HND or Degree in relevant engineering background with professional registration with engineering council
