Experienced Lead Project Engineer - Design to Commissioning
Our client, a leading Engineering firm in Cardiff, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Project Engineer with a passion for delivering quality end-to-end projects within the Electrical Mechanical Civil Projects sector. This permanent position offers exciting opportunities for those ready to take their career to the next level and maintain hands-on involvement throughout every step of the project.
As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing a team of project engineers while working closely with clients from design through commissioning of various engineering projects.
You should have experience coordinating complex multi-disciplinary teams and possess excellent communication skills that enable effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities of Lead Project Engineer:
Manage multiple high-value electrical mechanical civil infrastructure projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Monitor progress against schedules and proactively identify and manage risks to ensure timely completion of work.
Coordinate procurement activities on behalf of the company, ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain positive relationships between our team members as well as vendors/partners involved in each project, ensuring effective collaboration and communication at all times.
Qualifications & Skills Required for for Lead Project Engineer Role:
Education/Experience:
To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelor's degree or higher qualification related to Engineering Degree (or equivalent industry experience) and previous experience as a Project Engineer, leading & managing other proejct engineers. including ay include both technical/engineering roles coupled up management/supervision positions held previously.
Technical Competencies/Skills Required for Lead Project Engineer Role:
Proven track record successfully managing large scale multidisciplinary engineering schemes including detailed designs stages -design assurance stage gate process.
Strong commercial acumen capable executing appropriate strategies/making decisions around budgets/projects costs
Excellent written/oral communications/presentation abilities demonstrated history collaborating effectively across departments /external partners/stakeholders
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should be highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work under pressure. You should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically. You should also be able to work effectively in a team environment and have a passion for delivering high-quality work.
For the successful Lead Project Engineer, a salary up to £70k + Hybrid Working + Benefits package is on offer.
