Finance Assistant
Location: Cardiff
Full time, permanent
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £25,000 to £27,000, dependent on experience
The role:
We are looking for an experienced finance assistant to join a growing team, reporting to the Finance Manager. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for daily invoicing for all branches and allocating cash received to customer accounts. Relationship management will be central to your role, building a rapport with customers and collecting payments, supporting the working capital process.
The business:
Established for over 30 years in the supply of DIY/trade products for the building and maintenance sector, currently operating out of four branches.
What you'll be doing:
* Daily invoicing for all branches.
* Supporting the sales team with opening Cash & Credit accounts and collecting necessary information.
* Supporting the finance manager with working capital process by owning the aged debt and building rapport with customers to collect payments in a timely manner.
* Carry out a quarterly review of credit limits for customers and placing accounts on hold where necessary.
* Sending out statements to all customers accounts both weekly and monthly
* Dealing with customer queries, and ensuring any issues are dealt with in a professional and timely manner liaising with branches where necessary.
* Keeping accurate notes and communication logs within the ERP system.
* Monitoring all cash accounts on a daily basis to ensure there are no outstanding invoices
* Producing monthly reports for the finance manager and wider team.
* Allocation of cash received to customer accounts.
* Monitoring of emails ensuring any copy invoices./POD required are sent.

* Experience of working in a similar role.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Experience with data analysis and reporting.
* Capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
