LNG Operator

Our client is a global energy & commodity trading group and one of the most exciting and commercially driven Commodity Trading houses in the industry!

Working within the LNG Operations team and working closely with the LNG Trading team, the LNG Operator will hold an important role responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of their LNG Cargo Portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

• Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will support the team in managing the daily operations of our Spot and Term LNG contracts, collaborating closely with the LNG Trading team
• Manage and optimise the Cargo Schedule daily including ensuring all nomination deadlines are met
• Work closely with all departments, including trading, legal, tax, credit, settlements, trade finance and compliance (amongst others) to maximise the value created by our LNG portfolio
• Support the Trading team in optimising the LNG cargo portfolio, including identifying new potential optimisation opportunities and maximising margin capture
• Manage the lifecycle of an LNG Cargo from load to discharge, ensuring all aspects of MSA’s and CN’s are fully adhered to, and all internal systems are fully updated.
• Support the operation of any Spot or Term LNG Shipping needs including the preparation of voyage instructions, optimising the fuel decision, appointing local port agents, manage laytime / demurrage calculations and claims

Technical expertise and skills required:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of operational experience within LNG
• An excellent working knowledge of LNG operations or LNG shipping operations is required.
• Strong IT skills are a requirement, including excellent Excel skills and an ability to learn new systems as required. An ability to code (VBA) is advantageous
• Educated to degree level
• A strong commercial awareness, excellent communication and analytical skills with a proven track record of problem solving
