Job Description
Position: Mechanical Estimator
Location: Cheshire
Salary: Competitive
An exciting position has become available for a full time Mechanical Estimator to join a friendly team based in Leigh. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary. The successful candidate’s main responsibility will be the production of accurate electrical tenders for both pre-designed and design and build contracts.
Role Requirements
* A strong background in Mechanical Estimating preferably minimum 5 years in similar role previously
* Good use of Microsoft Word / Excel
* Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients / suppliers and sub-contractors
* Ability to work as a team but also be capable of managing own team and meeting tight deadlines
Role Responsibilities
* Review tender package
* Create project file, & generate project number from estimate register
* Send out enquiries to our approved supply chain.
* Review quotations to achieve specification compliance.
* Work alongside electrical estimators on combined tenders.
* Carry site visits and surveys where possible.
* Produce Tender Summary Sheet for finalization.
* Compile tender return/ contractors’ proposals document
* Ensure that client has received Tender / Follow up call 2-3 days from submission
* Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients.
* Offering initiatives for value engineering.
* Compiling accurate budget costs and cost plans.
* Compiling accurate reports to achieve best value.
* Attending workshops as proposed by SMT when required.
* Ensuring company reputation.
* Basic knowledge of AutoCAD to allow for drawings to be viewed and printed when required
* Basic design of pipework, heating and ventilation systems
* Creation of good quality quotes and managing of our online project management software
* Housekeeping in the office.
* Ensure Company clothing is maintained & utilized.
* Maintaining good customer communications.
* Continue to respect work colleagues and build working relationships
