Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16.30, Friday 07:30 - 11.30
Salary: £36.000

About the Role:
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that:
Quality process controls are engineered in accordance with ISO:9001, customer-specific requirements, analysis of practicality, and PFMEA outcomes.
Quality process controls are effectively implemented to maintain exceptional standards in a safe, clean, and well-ordered environment (5S Approach).
Inspections at all production stages are conducted against design specifications.
You will work collaboratively across teams to identify risks, minimise inefficiencies, and ensure systematic company improvements while maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control:
• Develop and implement process controls based on ISO:9001, PFMEA, and customer-specific requirements.
• Conduct inspections using mechanical drawings (ISO standards) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensions and
Tolerances).
• Calibrate measuring equipment and gauges, ensuring accuracy
Inspection & Measurement:
• Use and select basic measuring tools (micrometres, calipers, protractors).
• Operate and program CMM equipment, including creating and editing programs for complex components like
gearboxes.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Conduct MSA studies and utilise SPC tools, including QS-Stat software, to analyse data trends.
• Monitor KPIs to track customer satisfaction, internal performance, and supplier performance.
Automotive Quality Tools:
• Support with ISR, control plans, 8D reports, AIMS, deviation requests, and concessions.
• Interpret and meet specific customer quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Drive initiatives to enhance operational performance.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
• Proficiency in CMM programming (QCT software preferred).
• Knowledge of ISO:9001, TS16949, and SPC methodologies.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel (pivot tables, conditional formatting).
• Hands-on inspection experience with a proactive, improvement-oriented mind-set.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and use standard gauges effectively.
• Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with machined components.
Preferred Qualifications:
• HNC/HND in mechanical/quality engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of CMM programming (online and offline).
