Job Description
Partnered exclusively with a UK based multi-disciplinary construction consultancy there is a unique opportunity for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join this leading firm. This role is perfect for someone eager to take the reins of M&E services while working on a diverse array of projects. You’ll be involved in everything from mixed commercial and residential developments to schools, offices, decarbonisation initiatives, PV farms, large government contracts, and even international assignments.
As the firm transitions its M&E QS services in-house, you will be instrumental in establishing, leading and expanding the team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional project outcomes and high levels of client satisfaction. In this role, you’ll provide leadership on high-value, complex M&E projects and programmes, guiding the commercial management of various commissions while keeping a keen eye on financial performance to achieve business objectives.
You will have the opportunity to cultivate a culture of commercial awareness within your team and promote collaboration across disciplines to enhance service delivery. As Client Account Manager for strategically important accounts, your focus will be on nurturing relationships that lead to sustainable and profitable projects.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing recruitment, appraisals, and performance management, as well as ensuring that ongoing training and development opportunities are available to staff. You'll also manage the daily work programming, planning, and resource allocation, ensuring that everyone is optimally utilized. Plus, you'll lead multi-discipline bidding processes and client interviews to secure new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical and engineering quantity surveying, with a strong grasp of M&E cost planning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building effective relationships with clients and internal teams, particularly with the in-house M&E design and sustainability teams. We’re looking for a leader who can successfully navigate a transition period and develop an in-house team to meet increasing demands.
This position requires a commitment to working in one of their UK offices’ 2-3 days a week, complemented by flexible remote work options.
In return, you’ll enjoy a dynamic work environment with a range of project opportunities, the chance to shape and lead a new in-house M&E QS team, and a competitive salary and benefits package.
