Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions within a regulated and quality-assured environment. This position offers the opportunity to engage in complex projects, primarily focused on the Nuclear sector, leveraging both your technical expertise and leadership abilities. You will oversee the full lifecycle of engineering and design activities, ensuring adherence to stringent technical standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with customers to establish and document user requirements and technical specifications.
Resource Allocation: Assign resources effectively, considering team members' skills, experience, and qualifications, to meet project objectives.
Team Coordination: Lead and guide a team of engineers and designers, providing oversight and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering design outputs meet company quality standards and comply with relevant procedures.
Technical Investigation: Conduct engineering studies and investigations, generating insightful reports to support project goals.
Project Delivery: Manage projects to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely completion, adhering to budget constraints and timelines.
Industry Awareness: Stay informed on technological advancements and industry trends to continually enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience

Industry Experience: Proven experience in a regulated, quality-assured system, ideally within the nuclear sector.
Design Expertise: Significant experience in roles focused on design, with demonstrable knowledge in relevant engineering disciplines.
Specialisation: Expertise in specialized engineering areas, with a track record of effectively applying this knowledge in practical settings.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead engineering functions and act as a custodian of expertise, with experience influencing and guiding engineering teams.
Project Management: Skilled in delivering engineering work packages successfully, with a strategic approach to guiding and managing a portfolio of projects and programs.
