Design Manager - MEP
Bristol
£60,000 - £70,000 plus package
Option of Hybrid
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Manager, one Electrical and one Mechanical to join a dynamic team. As a Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our design department, overseeing the creation of innovative and visually stunning designs across various projects. You will be responsible for managing a team of designers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization while nurturing creativity and collaboration within the design team.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead and inspire a team of designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and development, this will be a mixture of internal resources and external resource.
Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the workload is distributed evenly and aligns with each team member's skills and expertise.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and excellence in design.
Design Project Management
Oversee all aspects of design projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish project goals and objectives.
Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Essential Competencies:
Effective communication skills (Aural and Written Word)
Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Ability to develop self and others.
Outstanding organisational and planning skills

Extensive Safety, Health, Environnemental and Quality skills

Outstanding Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering skills with a sound knowledge of the second discipline
In depth knowledge of statutory and contractual requirements
Ability to think outside the box to overcome any issues relating to install.
Team player and understands the importance of bringing the best out of the team.
Autonomous thinking with foresight in mind and knowing when to ask for assistance.
