ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking aSoftware Developerto join ourteam that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Work location: Onsite (William J Hughes Technical Center)
Summary: The person in this position will work specifically with the TFDM Adaptation and Software Teams using C/C++, Java, XML, shell scripting, database concepts (Postgres and/or Oracle), GIS Tools, Red Hat Linux, Ada, Redmine, Git, and various homegrown tools.TFDM Lab assignments and Data Collection is essential.

- Perform adaptation/software analysis and implement code fixes, adaptation. changes, and new functionality.
- Perform data collection, problem investigation, and testing.
- Provide support to the Field, Adaptation Team, and TFDM Labs.
- Perform peer/code reviews.
- Write technical documentation and procedures
- Ability to work individually and within a group/team.
- Ability to take direction and initiative; ability to provide direction and training.
- Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in ComputerScience or Math, or a Bachelor’sdegree in another technical fieldwith a minimum of thirty (30)semester hours in a combination ofmathematics, statistics, andcomputer science and five (5)years of related work experience ina computer science or math fieldORMaster’s Degree in any field ofstudy with a minimum of thirty(30) semester hours of eitherundergrad or grad study in acombination of mathematics,statistics, and computer scienceand three (3) years related workexperience in a computer scienceor math field.
- Technical Adapter/Software Developer with knowledge in C/C++, Java, XML, Shell Scripting, Java Script, Database Concepts, UNIX/LINUX, and the ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
- All candidates are required to have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environment.
- The person in this position will be responsible for providing software/adaptation analysis, design/development, testing, and system integration for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. Applicable functional areas include proficiency and knowledge of real-time design, development, testing and interfacing of software and computer hardware systems.
- Comprehensive software development skills and experience with programming languages used for National Airspace Systems (NAS) and NAS support systems.
- US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must have resided in the US for at least the past 3 years.
- Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust.
- Technical Adapter/Software Developer with the required knowledge plus Ada, Perl Scripting, Python, Geographic Information System (GIS) Tools, and Red Hat Linux.
- In addition, experience in TFDM/STARS/NAS, Test, Redmine (or another project management tool), Git (or another configuration management tool), and Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
- Technical Adapter/Software Developer with the required and preferred knowledge plus experience in Red Hat Linux (7, 8, or 9), HTML/XML, QT, JSON, SQL, Python, Ansible scripting, and System Engineering.
- Desk/lab located on-site at the William J. Hughes Technical Center
- Limited (25% or less) travel to locations throughout the US
