Summary The Lead Electrical Engineer role is designed as the acting authority in the field of electrical engineering. Other expectations include applying advanced techniques and principles to planning, conducting, and coordinating a broad range of complex professional research, development, design, technology, manufacturing, or quality assignments.Duties and Responsibilities May influence strategic planning for major technical projects or more than one project of major scope and complexity that significantly impact the business.Provides significant external leadership including extensive customer and stakeholder interface.Advises and consults as technical expert to other technical and administrative personnel to drive and implement short and long-term projects.Prepares comprehensive proposals, schedules, and cost estimates; may set, modify and/or negotiate schedule changes and dates.Leads, directs, influences, or coordinates the work of a major project, program, product or component with responsibility for project objectives, completion dates, and technical specifications.Drives technical advances and innovation and/or improvement in existing technologies to make substantial impacts.Stays current with relevant emerging technology and business trends. Uses business knowledge to evaluate and prioritize business opportunities based on economic and technical factors.Leads, trains and mentors all engineers within the electrical engineer family on various test processes and procedures.You Must Have Ability to travel up to 15% of the timeAbility to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the businessBachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or PhysicsUnited States Citizenship7+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this jobAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)We Value Ability to review construction submittals for conformance with the CD’s.Ability to perform construction observations for progress and document results.Ability to coordinate project acceptance with conditions and document through completion.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrates application of advanced engineering and analytical concepts and techniques to complex technical projects. Demonstrates working without supervision and provides technical consultation and guidance to others.Demonstrates application of advanced engineering and analytical concepts and techniques to complex technical projects. Experience collaborating with Federal Government clientele, contractors and design professionals.PMP certification or its equivalent. Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS). A background in a manufacturing or industrial environment. A track record of successfully managing projects up to or exceeding $10M.A solid understanding of project management principles, techniques, and methodologies. Exceptional organizational skills with an innate ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Detail oriented; possess professional presence, maturity, and judgment.Strong analytical and problem-solving prowess. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in relevant software tools, encompassing project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
