Storage Lead - Backup & Recovery

Roles and Responsibilities : - Planning the Storage, Backup, and Security strategy, including ownership for all data classification and participates in regular Presales activities and support sales team. - Work together with SDMs, COE Leads, the helpdesk, and other functional groups within organization. - Lead a team of Storage and backup administrators, providing guidance and mentorship. - Extensive experience in Storage Consolidation, Backup and Recovery and Disaster Recovery as Track Lead. - Experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting large mission critical installations. - In depth experience and understanding of Storage Architecture and SAN/NAS/DAS/iSCSI design especially with large scale implementation experience - Excellent knowledge on SAN / NAS / FC Switches / Tape Libraries - Should have strong technical experience/ expertise with applications to integrate with backup software. - Should be able to architect solutions on above platforms and have strong understanding of all IT security standards and products. - Set goals, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets the bigger team objectives. - Collaborates with individuals inside own team and with other global IT teams to complete project work. - Engages with all levels of management and key stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage support and operational objectives. - Identify and incorporate future service management needs into a well-considered multi-year roadmap across the support areas. - Identifies, constructs, and implements plans to remove friction in the day-to-day operation. - Lead the culture of continuous improvement by identifying projects, initiatives & getting the business or leadership engagement and deliver them. - Contribute to Operation Reviews of IT services covering Customer Satisfaction, SLA performance, and Operational metrics. - Producing regular and accurate service management reports and dashboards for the leadership team. - Strong understanding of ITIL or similar service management process standards along with ticketing tool like ServiceNow, ITSM - Public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Devops, and scripting knowledge to automate regular and complex activities. - Storage platforms: NetApp cluster mode, NetApp HCI, HP MSA, EMC Power Vault and Power Store, EMC Unity, EMC Isilon, XtremeIO, Hyperflex, CISCO MDS Switches, Pure Storage, Cloud Storage - Snapshot and Replication technologies: Snapmirrors/Snapvaults/EMC Checkpoints (mandatory) - Backup and Recovery platforms: Cohesity Data Protect and Dell EMC Networker (optional) - Tape libraries from vendors like Oracle and Spectra logic or similar (Optional) - Disaster Recovery technologies: (Including Storage, Data Base and Server based systems and Disaster Recovery of Backup catalogs) - Knowledge of storage and backup encryption technologies - Knowledge on OS (Linux and/or Wintel) with scripting skills (Mandatory) Prospective candidates having following is an added advantage: - Having excellent interpersonal and leadership skills will be critical for success: success depends on building rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders across the organization. - Have a wide degree of creativity and latitude to adjust to rapidly changing plans and circumstances. - Experience working in a hybrid on-prem and public cloud environment. - knowledge on Splunk queries and Splunk Dashboards along with Secure Copy, Robocopy (Essential) - Certifications from major vendors like NetApp, Dell and Cohesity. Experience: - 14 years of relevant Storage & Backup technologies. - Willingness to learn new technologies and processes, and quickly apply them. - Ability to work seamlessly with both vendors and internal stakeholders. - Identify and drive efficiency improvement initiatives. - Ability to escalate critical issues to internal and/or 3rd-parties, as appropriate, and communicate status and resolution to the team. - Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently while making sound decisions. - Good knowledge of industry tools (ref:hirist.tech)
