SQL Database Administrator

Design and collaborate : - Support interdisciplinary projects involving large numbers of developers and consultants, while working very tightly with our internal IT Services team - Identify automation opportunities and drive automation to increase database, data stores and data pipelines performance and value-add - Drive and champion database best practices, their knowledge management and facilitate training to platform teams on database technologies and data integration methodologies Build and operate : - Build database solutions of high availability and quality align to internal stakeholder requirements - Configure, maintain, optimize databases and ensure data access and infrastructure controls are in place to safeguard against data losses and data breaches - Assist developers in identifying and correcting database-related issues. - Support platform owners in driving efficiency of database procedures for responsible business applications - Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards - Manage and monitor DB performance, database health and security posture - Perform regular database maintenance, patches, data quality checks and troubleshooting activities You have the following qualifications : - Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field : - AWS Certified : AWS Database Specialty - Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate - 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the financial industry - Practical experience of at least one common Enterprise Agile Framework e.g., Kanban, SAFe, SCRUM, etc. - Practical experience with Database Access Management and Database Security (DB Hardening, DB Audit, DB Policies, etc.) - Practical experience with MS SQL Server database administration including management of "Always On Availability groups" - Practical experience MS SQL Server performance optimization - Excellent communicator with team-oriented approach Desired : - Experience with workload automation scheduling tools like Control-M - Experience with PostgreSQL - Strong programming skills with advanced knowledge of Python and other languages (ref:hirist.tech)
