Data Engineer - Google Cloud Platform

Job Overview : We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysis. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and implement data processing pipelines using GCP tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Optimize data models and ETL processes for performance and scalability. - Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues, ensuring data quality and integrity. - Implement data security and governance best practices. - Stay current with emerging GCP technologies and data engineering trends. Qualifications : - Bachelor's / master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 3 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on GCP. - Proficiency in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer. - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or SQL. - Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts. - Familiarity with tools such as Apache Beam, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools. - Knowledge of data visualization tools (e., Tableau, Looker) is a plus. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications : - GCP certifications (e., Professional Data Engineer). - Experience with machine learning and data analytics. - Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data privacy regulations (ref:hirist.tech)
