VMware Engineer - ESXi/vCenter Operations

Role : VMware Engineer Key Skills : vSphere, vCenter, Oracle DB, MySQL, VMware Orchestrator, Kubernetes, Docker, Powershell Experience : 5-8 Years Location : Pune Locals Only Notice Period : Immediate- 15 Days Job Description : - Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines. - Monitor the health and performance of VMware environments, identifying and resolving issues promptly. - Perform system updates, patching, and hardware/software upgrades to maintain a secure and up-to-date environment. - Perform capacity planning and optimization of VMware environments to ensure optimal resource utilization. - Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and resolve issues related to VMware clusters, storage, and networking. - Assist in disaster recovery (DR) setup and testing, ensuring proper failover and failback operations. - Utilize automation tools (such as PowerCLI, vRealize Automation, or Ansible) to streamline management tasks and improve operational efficiency. - Develop and maintain scripts for automating repetitive tasks and workflows within VMware environments. - Implement security best practices for virtualized environments, including hardening ESXi hosts and virtual machines. - Ensure VMware infrastructure meets organizational and regulatory compliance standards (e.g, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS). - Work closely with the network, storage, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of VMware environments. - Provide Level 2/3 support for issues escalated from other IT support teams, ensuring timely resolution. Preferred Skill Set : Primary - VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi) - VMware vSAN, NSX, Horizon, and vRealize Suite - Docker & Kubernetes - PowerShell or PowerCLI - VMware Orchestrator (vRO) - vRealize Operations Manager Secondary : - SAN, NAS, and iSCSI in a virtualized environment - Networking concepts, including VLANs, firewalls, load balancers, and TCP/IP - Veeam and CommVault - Oracle DB / MySQL / Postgres (ref:hirist.tech)
