Head of Data Science

Job Description : The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, business intelligence, and management. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive the Data and Analytics, BI function to support data-driven decision making across the organization. The VP Data science will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of machine learning predictive models, BI tools and systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and providing actionable insights to various departments. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role is critical in helping the organization leverage data to achieve its business goals and objectives Responsibilities : - Develop and implement the overall Data and Analytics, BI strategy. - Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of predictive models, BI tools and systems. - Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security. - Provide actionable insights to support business decision making. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs. - Manage and mentor a team of data analytics professionals. - Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews. - Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies. - Develop and maintain data governance policies. - Create and deliver presentations to senior management. - Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). - Identify opportunities for process improvements. - Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Requirements : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - Master's degree preferred. - Experience in business intelligence/data analytics. - Experience in a leadership role. - Experience in R/Python, Machine Learning, Databases, Dashboards. - Strong knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Analytics. - Strong knowledge of BI tools and systems - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes. - Knowledge of SQL and other database query languages. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. - Strong project management skills. - Experience with data governance and data privacy regulations. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to think strategically and drive change. - Relevant experience in Banking and Financial services, with experience in predictive modelling of regulatory and non-regulatory credit risk domain (ref:hirist.tech)
