System Administrator - Ubuntu/CentOS

Job Description : - Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (e.g, Ubuntu, CentOS). - Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies. - Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning. - Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. - Configure and troubleshoot network devices (routers, switches, firewalls). - Maintain network infrastructure, including cabling, wireless networks, and VPNs. - Monitor network performance and security. - Implement and enforce security policies and procedures. - Conduct vulnerability assessments and patch management. - Respond to security incidents and breaches. - Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. - Assist with desktop and laptop setup and configuration. - Manage IT asset inventory. - Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT systems and procedures. - Contribute to knowledge base articles and training materials. - Participate in IT projects, including planning, implementation, and testing. - Assist with system upgrades and migrations. - 2-5 years of experience in system administration. - Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. - Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). - Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g, VMware, Hyper-V). - Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g, PowerShell, Bash). - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - IT certifications (e.g, CompTIA A, Network, Server, Microsoft certifications) are a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
