Job Description Summary At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We specialize in the design, production, and maintenance of components and systems for both civil and military aviation. As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will take ownership of several manufacturing processes applied to Legacy & NPI programs within the Value Stream ME team. You will also support the transformation activities (Hoshin Kanri) and definition of the cells within the Value Stream, pursuing opportunities for improvements through process simplification and automation. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes for both NPI & Legacy products. Define process changes, fixture improvements, tools selection, and machinery selection. Ensure that target metrics are achieved for the process owned, i.e., OTD, FTY, product cost, lead time, OEE. Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycle times. Bring new ideas and positive support to current process improvement. Implement productivity actions to improve the process and meet targets. Create manufacturing instructions, assuring that customer requirements are flowed down to the process and manufacturing best practices are properly documented, providing an accurate technical/historical database for future reference and meeting customer/end user requirements. Manage Process Substantiation and FAI activities. Qualifications/Requirements Master's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Industrial Engineering. Desired experience in manufacturing. Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient solutions. Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications. Fluency in Italian and English. Work Visa in accordance with local regulations is required. Desired Characteristics Strong organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously. Ability to work in a matrix organization. Experience in Lean Manufacturing is preferred. Six Sigma training is preferred.
