System Support Specialist (DevOps)

First Point Group are recruiting a DevOps Consultant to work as freelancer/freiberufler on a project in Germany. We are looking for a German speaker with experience in Linux, Networking protocols, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.

Job Summary

You will contribute to the implementation / integration of a leading Fiber Monitoring Solution. During the project, you will work in collaboration with the project manager and the technical teams of the customer. After solution deployment, your mission will consist in providing post-sales support.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the technical analysis and the validation of the IT/networks and prerequisites.
• Prepare all the documents needed for the solution deployment.
• Provide support to the teams in charge of the physical installation of equipment on customer sites.
• Execute end-to-end integration & are responsible for the validation, the acceptance of the solution and the respect of the schedules agreed with the client.
• Carry out the investigations required for the resolution of the incidents by relying on the R&D when it is necessary.
• You will be the key point of contact for several customers for maintenance and support activities.
• You will analyze and troubleshoot incidents raised by customers in order to ensure service restoration.
• Bugs fixing when possible.
• You will define, communicate, and implement action plans to solve incidents.
• You will be responsible of restoration and resolution SLAs and communication through customers.
• You will manage technical escalation in collaboration with the R&D department.

Technical skills required

• Linux Operating Systems
• Understanding of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, SSH, HTTP, DNS, NAT, SMTP, SNMP, firewalls and router configurations.
• Cloud base applications (EX: AWS & Azure)
• Cloud Native Orchestration (EX: Kubernetes & Docker)
• CI/CD: Github
• Scripting/Programming: TypeScript / Golang / Angular / React / SQL / MongoDB
• Virtualization environments ESX/VMWare
• Knowledge of DevOps organization
• Understanding of Optical networks

Assets

Database: MySQL, Sybase, PostgreSQL, Oracle

Cloud Native Application monitoring (EX: Prometheus & Grafana)

Search Engine/Database (Elasticsearch, Mongo)

• Programming language, including integrations with JSON, XML and REST APIs.
• ActiveMQ message broker

• Configuration and fine-tuning of the solution to adapt it to scope of work and customer environment.

Must Have:

• Germany based
• Language requirement: Fluent in German & English, another language would be a plus (French, Spanish)
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Ability to travel.
